My Tips to Snag a Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue Spot

There are so many thrills to a Walt Disney World vacation, but the newest one can be experienced before the parks even open. Securing a spot in the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance in Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort is a thrill unlike any other. Imagine you and your group huddled around your phones at 6:59am, constantly refreshing until 7:00am and in a matter of seconds you either feel the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. My first ever attempt at joining the virtual queue was unsuccessful, but I have made it my mission to never feel that way again (so far my group has been successful the past 3 times) Here are my tips and tricks in securing a spot in the queue for RotR.

• You have to have park reservation for Hollywood Studios in order to secure a spot in the RotR virtual queue at either 7am or 1pm (RotR is not available for park hopping guests)

• There are two virtual queue times during the day. The first one is at 7am and can be accessed from anywhere. The last is at 1pm and can only be accessed from within Hollywood Studios.

• Have every member of your party log into one My Disney Experience Account. This will ensure that different accounts don't cancel each other out. During our stay we had everyone log into my MDE account. (You can even have friends / family attempt from anywhere if you desperate)

• WIFI-if trying to get into the 7am virtual queue from your WDW resort, I recommend being on Disney WIFI. The two times I have been successful from our WDW resort I was on Disney Wifi. If you are trying to get into the 1pm virtual queue from inside the park, I recommend NOT USING DISNEY WIFI. My mom secured this boarding group for us on our Verizon LTE from the ABC Commissary. (Every group in the ABC Commissary seemed to get it, might be a lucky spot)

• Once in the My Disney Experience App-click the three lines (hamburger) at the bottom of page. DO NOT CLICK THE JOIN RotR QUEUE FROM THE MAIN PAGE.

• From inside the hamburger you will click virtual queues.

• From there, you will click join virtual queue. This will bring you to the action page.

• This is where you will want your group to start refreshing every second from 6:59am on. You refresh the page by pulling down on the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance box.

• We use the Apple Watch with the seconds hand because the Apple Watch is synched with our Apple Phones.

• Once the clock hits 7am the queue will open. The join button will appear-Click it as quickly as possible.

• This will bring you to the "members of your party page." DO NOT READ THIS PAGE! I AM SERIOUS, IF YOU READ ALL THE MEMBERS IN YOUR PARTY YOU HAVE LOST YOUR SPOT! Just click join again as quickly as possible! If there is an issue with members of your party Disney can fix it-but they can't get you a spot in line if you miss it!

• The member who secures the boarding group will have this screen-

• If no one in your group gets it, you'll see a message that they are no longer loading boarding groups and that you should try again at 1pm.
